
Mary Ellis, Member at Large
Mary is a multifaceted individual whose life journey has been marked by a passion for health care and helping others. Born in Tennessee and raised in Montana. Mary discovered early on a curiosity for medicine and raising money to help classmates who were not able to afford school lunches ever though the fee was less than .50 cents. This innate curiosity, coupled with a drive for excellence, has propelled Mary to numerous achievements and experiences throughout their life.

Her passion for learning led Mary to pursue a degree in Nursing with a specialty in Women’s Aesthetics and taught Phlebotomy at the College
of Eastern Idaho. During her academic journey, Mary excelled in both their studies and extracurricular activities, demonstrating not only academic prowess but also leadership and dedication to individual interests.

After completing her education and raising 4 children plus, more recently. 2 adopted children in Mexico Mary embarked on a professional journey that has been characterized by versatility and adaptability. From working as a volunteer in an orphanage in Tijuana starting in 2003, volunteering in a soup kitchen from 1996 to 2002 operating a special needs orphanage from 2012 to 2019 in Tijuana and as a current Board member of the La Mision Children’s Fund which operates one of the largest non-denominational food banks and scholarship programs in Baja Norte as well as serving on the Board of the La Mision Performing Arts Organization.
In her professional life, she has garnered a reputation for being compassionate, altruistic, dedicated, and intuitive. Whether it's through their innovative problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, or natural leadership qualities, Mary has consistently delivered results and made meaningful contributions to the organizations they have been a part of.
Beyond Mary’s professional pursuits, she is deeply committed to any philanthropic or community involvement. Whether it's volunteering at local organizations, mentoring aspiring individuals, or advocating for important causes, Mary strives to make a positive impact on the world around them.
